Do Any Jews Recognize That Their Side Used Terrorism?
Hi all, I started working at Coinbase not long ago (within a couple months) but a recruiter from Kraken just reached out. Should I take the interview? My considerations are that Kraken is pre-IPO, but it has a 6 year vesting schedule compared to quarterly vesting at Coinbase. I’d also love a comparison of these two companies for WLB (data scientist). TC: 249k
Can you tell us a bit about work culture at coinbase
So far it seems like people are super smart, very friendly, I haven’t personally seen a lot of overwork but I haven’t been here long. Definitely tons of things coming at you all the time and it does feel like lots of people are working on similar things. Very much a “welcome to coinbase, you can figure al this stuff out” mentality, no handholding or micromanaging
6 year vesting? WTAF???
But you get more equity. It’s basically same amount per year for your 4 year, but 2 more tacked on.
I work at Kraken and have friends at Coinbase. If you like your current position and team stay. From what I hear Coinbase is a gamble depending on who you work with. Kraken is pretty good and I've always had great WLB but the the compensation will likely be a little bit behind.
Do you think the comp will still be behind even if Kraken goes public next year? Assuming you had equity prior to going public
My TC is decent thanks to appreciation. Recent hires generally aren't as lucky.
I’m interested in a role I’ve seen in Kraken, can you refer me ?
Yeah take it. I interviewed but ultimately went elsewhere. Seemed decent. Full remote. Comp was decent. Not super competitive. Got a better offer elsewhere.
Can I ask what the offer was?
