Title says it all. Name the company: Reason they’re terrible to interview with: I’ll start…. Affirm Job posting says base salary $212-298k, the upper part of the band more in line with market. Recruiter said the maximum they offer a hire at this level is $220k regardless of YOE so they can have “room to grow”. Average market pay for this role is $250k. Blatant false advertising to get you to waste time applying. Upwork The most clueless and unqualified employees interviewing. AirBnB Super flaky “high energy” recruiters. Upstart Grossly underpaying market TC because their stock is tanked and they expect you to pick up the slack. YOE 12 Current TC: 575k #tech #interviews
Upstart - that’s right.
Apple…their recruiters are scumbags
Can you explain more? I feel like I am currently being taken for a ride by apple. Have onsite soon
I'm currently waiting to hear back from an onsite nearly 2 weeks ago. It is bad.
I had a weird interview with Salesforce, also every witch company is trash and so are their interviews, Ford was also shit, any contract role is usually also meh when it comes to interviews
Apple
Tesla.. shit pay, shit WLB
Agoda They’re all twats
Uber: Recently interviewed for a non-tech (Ops) role in a newly-formed team, though JD was somewhat vaguely worded. Pay was 🥜 but I need(ed) the jump. 7 rounds in total and in the final 3 rounds, whenever I asked questions to the interviewer, I was told “sorry, we can’t share more information as it’d be unfavorable to other candidates”. Recruiter tells me they are looking for someone urgently, however, in panel interview, I am told they will decide on what roles/responsibilities this person will have after interviewing everyone. Got rejected and 4 months since the job was posted, the role has still not been filled.
I have had a few bad experiences with Uber in this regard. In one case, I was 100% they interviewed me so that they could do a free expert interview for a new group they were considering starting. Yes, in my case too, the role was never filled. I believe i had one HR screening interview and then, I was given a written case and I met with the hiring manager for the first time to present the case. And he was asking all these questions. Shame on these companies really.
I can also add Uber to my list for similar reasons to Arwayz5. They make you jump through massive hoops for 🥜 and then fail to make the leap even though they’re asking you to work for them at a discount. Uber has had the role I interviewed for open for over 4 months.
Nvidia: Could just be me but Nvidia experience for me has been bad . Same for a few of my friends. And this has been true when we interviewed 4-5 years back. The manager said " you will get a offer" the offer never came. And no one ever responded. My friends told me that just interview to make sure and fill the quota of interviewing. I don't know how much that is true. Anyway could be our sour grapes although I never felt that such way. But yeah have interviewed twice but never had a good experience
I had one of the most embarrassing interviews with Nvidia, the recruiter told me it was a general backend software engineering role and that's why I went along with the interview, only to find that it's some embedded software engineering type of role and the interviewer is asking me these deep OS fundamental questions about kernels and drivers and shit and I am completely flubbing it, at one point the fire alarm of my dorm went off and I was happy to find a reason to end this interview, unfortunately it was just a fire drill lol
Sounds like the common problem is no company wants to pay you
Ours...peanuts pay
