Convince me that it's worth chasing after higher TC. TC: 300K give or take.

Early retirement
Bragging rights on Blind
Early retirement. But only if you can maintain your low TC standard of living while earning high TC. Most people get sucked into getting a bigger home, fancy car, nice vacations, eating at nice restaurants, going out a lot, buying a lot of shit. Then despite earning a top 1% income they have to work to 60 to save enough, where if they lived on what they previously did they could have retired comfortably at 40. Once you are living that higher standard of living it is really hard to go back.
It’s ok. Everyone has their own approach to deal. Some people want a good lifestyle and there’s nothing wrong in it
Sure. Nothing wrong with it. Enjoy working until you're 65!

Maybe peace of mind financially? Does’t mean happiness tho.
FIRE. Financial security. Preparation for future layoff due to ageism, recession, disability, health issue, or whatever else life throws at you. Make as much money as you can while you can. This gravy train won't last forever.
High TC
So high TC is an end in itself and not a means to something better?
Depends on what you value in life, will be different for everyone
