Naturalization: how long before oath letter?
Hi Three weeks ago I attended my naturalization interview, and I was recommended for approval. The online status has been in “we placed you in line for oath ceremony” ever since, but they didn’t schedule me yet for a ceremony. How long did you have to wait between the interview and the oath notice? I am so tired of waiting months at every single step, it has been 15 months already!
Do you have to be physically present here during those 15 months?
No. You just need to satisfy the residency requirement.
But after you apply for that and leave the country for more than 6 months, do you lose your GC?
I think if you were approved then just look up the next oath ceremony near you is and you should be getting a letter soon. I got interview on 2/11 and had ceremony on 2/21. I m guessing they build a pool to call on particular days..
I tried to look up the ceremony schedule but it’s impossible to find on google, surprisingly. I spent a good 30 minutes looking for my city. It’s not even clear where they do it, it seems like it changes every month.
This was 15 months after many years of H1B and many as green card holder, so I’ve been basically dealing with immigration for 15 years at this point and just want to be done with it...
You are done with it, what are you complaining about exactly?
