1. I was told that the base ranges from $120-$190 and they cannot give out range for RSUs for various reasons. 2. Recruiter told me that they'll hire everyone as an MTS at Nutanix, regardless of their experience and move it to the right level based on their performance. I don't know if that's their policy, if it is, then it's gonna be down level for me. What numbers should I ask for (Base + RSUs) ? Should I wait for them to give me an initial offer? Base range $120-190. They don't have a bonus structure. Thanks
I got an offer from them recently. Base 165 and 5.5k RSUs for 4 years . I have 5 years experience + 2 years foreign experience. Did not take it as I'm already making more at Oracle.
Thanks. Did you negotiate?
This numbers are after negotiation. Initially they offered 5k RSUs and same base salary. Recruiter painted a rosy picture for nutanix stock and wanted me to accept the offer considering the upside potential. I said no thank you.
Nutanix has been pressuring me to join. I am kind of disappointed in their behavior. Plus their engineering orgs have no diversity, everybody is from India. They moved very fast and wanted me to accept the offer next day after the interview. The recruiter pressured me and their director also pressured me. If I asked more they would have given it. But their pressure tactics is a red flag. They gave me MTS, when I asked for Sr they said they will work with HR.
Yes, I noticed that too. I'd prefer more diversity but their roadmap looks very promising. I would consider only if I get at least 30% bump in my current pay
@HUFDW Did you join? How is their interview structure? Standard leetcode? I’m planning to apply there soon
Not exactly. Some were leetcode and others weren't. They were very interesting to solve though.
I’m guessing more of system questions, like more of operating system concepts, file systems. Can you confirm
Yes, a couple of system design questions. They wouldn't focus more on theoretical concepts unless you're a new grad.
The law says they have to provide a band so maybe ask again?
You mean the salary band for that position? Recruiter gave me the range of the base salary.
What are the management role and levels at nutanix?
Pros: - Great health benefits and decent pay - Not a lot of red tape - Some products are still doing ok Cons: - 97% of culture is male Indians. You have to get into their circle to get promoted. - Promotions are much easier for managers and directors and much harder for the engineers who are doing the work. - Way too many directors, some of them are totally clueless. - RSU refreshers are not good. Assuming you get them, they are usually between 5-10% of the new hire grant. - Some products (Xi, Insights) are mis-managed and run by incompetent executives.
How's prism ?
How many years of experience you have?
4 years plus 2 years in a foreign country
This the offer for a new grad who had 3yrs of foreign experience was offered just before they went ipo: Base 130k Shares 3600 And some relocation and joining expenses
