* Google SVP: 40% of young people use TikTok/Instagram instead of Google Search/Maps for finding where to eat. * Internal Google data also shows that around 55% of product searches start on Amazon, not Google. Never thought the Google Search giant could be dented. But here we are! TC: 470K https://www.businessinsider.com/nearly-half-genz-use-tiktok-instagram-over-google-search-2022-7
This is like my mom typing www.yahoo.com in the google search box and then clicking on the first result 🤣
I hope you don't mean to imply that Gen Z doesn't know how to use text-based search engines? 🤔
You tell me...you cater to that generation.
How does someone find a place to eat on Instagram?
No idea. I'm not Gen Z. 😂
But on a serious note, from what I gather they search for terms like "steakhouse in lower Manhattan" then do something called "vibe check" from the results. :P
You people need to read the actual articles. People look at restaurant instagrams to see real pics of food
So it isn't that different from Google Maps. It is just that IG and TT are the main entry points.
👍
Wait I use Yelp to find places to eat. Are TikTok and Instagram actually better for that?
RIP new generation
