Why Worshipping Lord Ram Important in Hinduism?
Amazon L7 Snr Manager PMT, not from ivy league. Infact was in one of WITCH companies have less than 5 years at Amazon. Total experience 11 years. Google interview went well according to recruiter but Hiring Committee suggested L5 due to lack of experience (my guess also due to lack of strong college). Amazon TC- 410 Google Offer - 330 (recruiter said may bump a little if I decide to join). Should I take up for brand and work culture, safety (needless to say I am on Visa). P.S - not on PIP and don’t think close. #PM #Amazon #Google
Google any day. You don't need the negativity and karma from Amazon.
if you are in H1, It would be good to stay where you are now since there may be a chance that some of the unused GCs will come over to H1B bucket and your chance of getting EAD is higher if your priority date is on or before 2017. I am not a expert I am just sharing my thought.
Is Amazon working on filing for GC? If yes, that's a strong reason to stay. Also I would check how soon you can get promoted to L6, and the salary bump you can expect. That should give you an idea.
I don’t really trust in what recruiter is selling. I know getting in an then establishing a reputation and then getting promoted will take time. I have approved i140 so portable.
One thing to keep in consideration is slower promo’s at G. Whatever recruiter promise, doesn’t count at all. However toxic amazon is, taking ~20% hit on TC won’t be best. May be re-apply after an year and try for L6. L7 at Amazon is coveted role, you might want to make lateral switch. I got the down-leveled G offer too which I had to let go but FB did much better level and TC wise. But I’m not that high in corporate food chain.
In my opinion as a L7 PM manager going to google as an L6 PM, you’d be down leveling yourself significantly. You can do better as an L7 senior manager pmt. I’d decline the google offer and try again in a year.
How are you an L7 manager and here asking random strangers, most of who are Junior developers for the most important decision in your life? Also, why would you take a downlevel and significant pay cut?
Lot of life experiences combined in this forum I guess. In my known circle, I will be laughed off even if I ask this question.
