Hey, I’m at a state where I’m pretty exhausted from interviewing and already have a couple of offers. Want advice on if I should keep interviewing or choose from one of my existing offers. Offers I’m actually considering, all in London and in pounds- 1. Google: L4, numbers pending 2. Hedge Fund(Optiver, Millenium range) : 250k 3. start ups - 220k-250k (base higher than 150k) 4. Banks : multiple 200-220k range Also had offers from Bloomberg(125k), Amazon(SDE 2, 160k), Cisco (120k), Deliveroo(100k) to name a few that I’m not considering anymore. I have onsites coming up with a few hedge funds (Jane Street/ HRT/ Two sigma),Meta, Palantir, Stripe, Coinbase. Current Level: VP Current TC: 130k YOE: <5
I love these bank titles! I should geta job at Goldman and call myself Supreme Overlord of Engineering or something.
Lol yeah the titles are meaningless, “senior engineer” used to be a title above vp
How much leetcode have you done out of curiosity?

Thank you what factors are you looking to optimise here? Any suggestions for a new grad ? Would you suggest someone early in career prefers startups(my current company) over established company like Google , Bloomberg?
Do those offers include signon? You should keep interviewing if you're not burning out since you've already done arguably the harder part with the prep. Google L4 won't compete with the rest you would have needed L5 with sign on. In terms of your existing offers It depends on the specific hedge fund and start up if you're considering anything other than just money. From the offers you've named personal order of pref would be: Optiver > Google > Rest (millennium > banks)
Based on the data in levels.fyi, it seems that the base in optiver is very low. Though the bonus is very high. But that may be target bonus, not guaranteed. Do you have any information from anyone working there?
Yes optiver is bonus heavy. typically their first year bonus is guaranteed and after that its pnl driven. On good years it can be significantly high, on bad years the reverse
Google L4 won't get close to 200k - I'd take Optiver. Care to share the AMZN breakdown?
Sent you a DM
Yes, Google won't match for L4. Maybe L5. Meta would make an effort to bridge the gap. I guess the team and work type matter in your decision. Would you mind sharing the names of some startups that pay that much, please?
Op any tips on negotiating? I have multiple offers but everyone seems to cap around 130k gbp.
Just git gud
Take Google. It'll get you interviews and opportunities for the rest of your career, and getting startup offers will never be a challenge.
I’m dying laughing cause bro does it look like op has any trouble getting interviews? Lmao. The days of SDE needing Google on resume are long gone.
For an L4 it's not as much a problem, things get tougher though. Admittedly I'm product though so I don't know that game.
