Hi All I am a 29 year old, married guy working in tech. Mediocre Family TC - 200 and NW - 725k. My NW breakdown - ~280k from investment gains and rest of it is from savings. I see a lot of millionaires on blind who became millionaires by buying crypto, risky(high pe) stocks like Tesla or just through RSU vesting. In my point of view crypto , Tesla method is good but not always repeatable and depending on RSUs to compound would be like to have all eggs in one basket. So if you have compounded wealth but not through risky ventures mentioned above, can you share thoughts/ideas/experience/books/etc which can help the rest of us like me ?? Thanks in advance #personalfinance #investments #stocks #finance
So you want 80% voo/vti and maybe qqq with 20% individual picks and top crytpo.
Thanks for your reply. Any ideas / suggestions on how to research for individual picks?
Pick companies you understand and think have a long term competitive advantage.
Buy VOO. Configure reinvestment of dividends. Forget it
No advice here. Just wanted to say congratulations - that's a pretty solid NW @ 29!
Thank you for your kind comment. However around 40% of my NW is from investment gains. I guess I got lucky in the market as I invested a lot during March 2020.
Nothing wrong with that. Most of my net worth is from choosing the right company at the right time. Lucky moments don't detract from your overall success!
Mediocre family, lol
That is mediocre, isn't it ? I mean I see people on blind with TC 500-600K. Also TC 200k is combined (mine and wife's)
I hope this is not in bayarea. You should be good with that combined TC in most other places. What is your grade level at intel and didn't they give you any RSU (or just 🥜) ?
@sparkcognition - this is not in Bay area. Also Intel RSUs are just 🥜
