I got an offer from FB. Looking for a suggestion from the group. I currently work for Amazon and the salary total comp offered by FB after couple rounds of negotiation, is lesser than Amazon ($45k less in year2 and $15k less in year1 due signon bonus). Im in the 2nd year with Amazon so very confused to make a decision whether to accept FB’s offer or not. Appreciate any suggestions that can help me make a decision. #fb #amazon Amazon TC - 345k FB TC - 300k
Can you share the exact TC breakup for Amazon/Meta?
Appreciate you being decent enough to at least share exact TC and breakdown in return for the free advice you’re seeking from other working professionals.
Added TC in the post
Amazon all the way. Earth's best employer and all.
😂😂
OP is not joining Amazon. They are in Amazon
Hard to vote without TC breakup. Please share that. Also, you can always negotiate with FB to match Amazon. Definitely no point in taking a pay cut. Wait a few months and you'll get a better offer.
A friend of mine turned down fb as TC was lower. Few months later the recruiter came back with 60% increase in TC. Force them to beat it OP.
60% seems wild though, this must not be a reliable play
True. But unless one is getting paid better I fail to see why they'd want to move to FB. It's not like WLB is any better there. It's a worthwhile gamble to force them to beat OP's current TC.
Don’t forget that Facebook has refreshers (and very good multipliers on them) whereas Amazon don’t. You will make far more money at facebook in the medium term.
Incorrect. Amazon will give refreshers if the comp drops below the target level for the next yr. However if the stock does well, we don't get refreshers as the comp will automatically hit the target. I would also dubiously speculate that since the overall talent is weaker at Amazon its easier to outperform peers and get promotions/better rating.
^ I want to know what you smoke.
Ur kidding right… Amazon sux
Go wherever you will feel most engaged and supported. TC is a byproduct of career growth, which only happens when you are actively engaged and supported.
Wise words!
