Hi asking this for a friend who doesn’t have an account Which is better Amazon SDE 1 vs Walmart SDE 3 ? TC is almost similar and around 200k (give or take 5k) Tax: 160k EDIT: Thanks for the inputs but Amazon has a more perceived value (prestige if you will) and will get you better opportunities in future than Walmart, isn’t this empirically correct?
Amazon has pip though
I would accept both offers, no one would know
I would take walmart for it's culture and peace of mind
lol culture , culture at walmart is bs . infact both of bad culture
I would go to Walmart for wlb . Avoid Amazon for PIP culture and shitty politics
Yeah I don’t wanna see him wrote a post on blind asking about how to get anti depressants while on Amazon insurance lol
Walmart
Most of the teams I know in Walmart have a bad work culture & balance too
If pay is same, go for Walmart Reasons : 1. Amazon has PIP culture which keeps you in constant anxiety. End of the day you want some life too don't you. 2. Comparatively Walmart has better work life balance. Not great but miles better compared to Amazon 3. Higher offered position is nothing to be considered but getting promoted in Walmart is easy if you know how to suck up to your manager. My friends in Amazon had to wait 5 years to get promoted. They are good at what they do though. For most people the reason to choose Amazon is higher pay but since it is same for you, it doesn't matter. P.S. Learning curve is a debatable topic. End of the day it all depends on the team and you yourself.

Quitting this Slave life
For people who are used to hustle Amazon For people looking for WLB Walmart Walmart titles are inflated don’t look too much into it.
Any insight into longterm prospects/growth ? Thanks !
Faster growth, high comp and learning is definitely better in Amazon.
