I really hope to have an interview (at least) with Google - applied online already but no response for a while. I am looking for a SDE role and passed phone interviews and will have onsite interviews with several companies including Facebook and Uber lately. Referrals don't mean anything at Goog anymore - doesn't improve your chances of getting an interview at all.

Not true. I got my resume referred and was contacted by a recruiter within 30 minutes. And also I skipped the phone interviews because I had an Amazon on site scheduled and an offer from another company.
