I received an offer for senior data engineer at 124k base and 11k sign on. Do you think it’s possible to negotiate to 150k? YoE: 2 Current TC: 110k
If it’s an Associate position, the payband is huge (think 100-200K) depending on skillset, account group, and how much the PM of the project can afford. Pro tip: I interviewed to BAH as an A level, then interviewed many more for my teams later while there - none of us ever know what you currently make at the job you want to leave. Never let that be a driver in how much you want them to pay you; aim high. Most likely they’ll give even more or show their cards on their cap.
What happened? For an Associate, no way BAH will pay 200K. Would be lucky to get 150K, but it’s doable with a sign on
They have pretty strict salary bands, they should have told you what the bands were on an initial phone screening. You can ask for maybe 140 max since I’m assuming you’re in a 120-140k salary band
Thanks for the insight. What about the sign on bonus? How negotiable is that?
Worked at Booz.. and I’m assume it’s part of the SIG? And can you remind me how the senior engineer role translates to overall levels? I think senior is L2 to which you’d be at the higher end of the salary band.. to get to 150k you need to be a L3 (lead scientist - what I was when I left / or an associate which is the generalist track).
