What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Google is offering me L3 position in Austin with the below figures: base: 102k equity: 127k (33,33,22,12)% bonus: 15% sign on: 10k Current TC, location: Atlanta, YOE:6 base: 120k bonus: 10% equity: 100k sign on: 10k How can I negotiate with google rec.? Can I hold my ground with what I have asked for or should I take what they are offering? Could I ask rec. for another team matching round that matches my current offer or asked offer? Asked offer: base: 145k equity: 150k bonus: 15% #google #negotiateoffer
Bruh downlevel with 6 YOE and an extreme lowball? L3 is the same level as a new grad, you would essentially be pushing your career back 6 years but up to you if you want the Google “prestige”
Your level doesn’t go on your resume and the name does open up more doors than Workday would, but that lowball offer is pretty disrespectful
Level doesn't go on resume but responsibilities do!
Just make up an offer and have them match it.
Don’t do this
+1 for Don’t do this. They’ll ask you to send them proofs anyway.
You got down leveled which tells me you probably barely passed the interviews. I got a lowball from Google as well, but with negotiations got an additional 23% TC. Good luck
any helpful tips for negotiations? I already watched jeff h sipes youtube videos.
YMMV - you have a current salary that is higher than what G is offering so first thing is to use that. Also factor in COL, and ask for relocation assistance. The negotiations can take weeks because it can take up to 48hours (or more because of holidays) to get feedback from compensation committee. So be patient
If you can pass google interviews you can pass other companies. I wouldn’t accept L3 downlevel at 6yoe. You can do so much better elsewhere and get hired at senior level.
You should be able to beat your current TC and googles if you interview elsewhere
I had no competiting and got 125 base, negotiate
Are you an app dev? Wondering how you got google with xo?
With 6 yoe you should arguably try again in 6 months for L4. That said, your ask is too high in the base, but I bet stocks can be higher
Without a competing offer, I would just decline. Google offers are good for a year.
You need a competing offer
