Negotiate on internal transfer

I got multiple offers from outside companies (not top tier but the offers are decent) and was ready to leave, but just recently, I interviewed with an internal team and love the work that they are doing. I most likely would decline those external offers and stay at the current company for this team. However, since it’s an internal transfer, can I still negotiate the compensation using offers from other companies? What should I be careful about when bringing this up to the hiring manager without pissing him/her off??

I don’t think so. But it is worth trying as you are ready leaving

No, you or your HM will not be involved ... It is strict policy.

You can at ms. I've done this exact thing myself. With it being a brand new team it is a bit trickier because you dont have that history. If you had good reviews previously and the new team is excited about you as you are about them it could still work. One thing, if you approach it like "I have this other offer so please give me more money" that isnt going to work. They have to believe that you are going to go. And if you tell them that, and they say no, then you're going to be kind of stuck.
