I got call from HR(non FAANG) earlier this week to understand my base range expectations( I shared 160k-170k) and she mentioned that we can come to agreement on 165K. Now I got call yesterday for official verbal offer that they will offer 155K with 15% bonus +15% RSU vested over 3 years. I was shocked to learn 10K less and I told her that I am expecting my same range of 160k-170k. She is going to check for 160k. I feel bad now knowing we almost agreed on higher number. She mentioned to come back next week if not agreed then they will go with no. 2 candidate. I really want this job. Did I give bad impression by sticking? Do you think it will give bad impact to HM. I dont think I gave absurd expectations. This role is Senior Manager, Analytics TC -150K YOE -8 #negotiation #analytics
Cost cuts and layoffs everywhere. Of course wages will go down
It's no longer a seller's market.
I don’t think you made the wrong call by asking to get back within your range — both of you had previously agreed on 165. However, since there are other qualified candidates in the pipeline eager for the job, you have to be careful with negotiation. But from the company’s perspective, an additional 5K is nothing so hopefully you get it.
Thank you!
If they reject you for asking additional 5k-10k which you guys initially agreed upon then probably its good that you didnt join them. Imagine if they cant pay you now how would they raise your salary later (after a year or two if you plan to stay long) when you are their employee? Unless you are desperate, I would suggest to pass this company if you dont like their offer.
Makes sense. Thanks a lot
what location is this for? 200K for Senior Analytics Manager, 8 YOE is really low if SF.
I hate to point this out but: Wework
