Hi everyone, Been working through the interview process for a Global Supply Manager position for autopilot and infotainment at Tesla for the last while. I just heard back from HR that they want to suggest me for P4 (staff level) but I’ll have to interview with the VP to get final approval. Haven’t gotten to offer stage yet, but I was given rough salary range to see if I wanted to proceed: Base - 165-185K RSU - 350-400K I know I’m putting the cart before the horse since I still need to interview with the VP first, but wanted to see if anybody had any advice or examples for negotiating since supply chain roles are less common on Blind, and there are fewer data points for Tesla. Background: currently working in Canada as Director of Supply chain for a large conglomerate, wanting to chase the tech dream in silicon valley. YOE: 9 (4 post MBA) TC: 250K (just got a fat bonus that bumped things up a bit) in a very LCOL area.
Dm me, went through the interview process in the same org but technical position with same level-P4.
That’s a very good offer for supply chain
Thank you for the perspective. I’ll negotiate with the goal of hitting top end of the ranges provided.
Gsm at Tesla makes 70k wtf r u talking about
If you look at the H1B database you’ll see that the base salary for the worst paid global supply analyst is higher than that.
PrntsCharm either got shafted or he doesn’t work in supply chain
Yeah he clearly has no idea what people in supply chain make.
You guys saying I'll get a pay bump going back to supply chain from prototyping? If I just take a material planner position or something
OP, what did you end up negotiating?
Still working through things now. I’ll report back when everything is finished.
Thanks.
What did you end up with @op?
Hey sorry for the late reply. Just received back rev. 2 of my offer. $175K base and $380K RSU. Trying to decide on whether I’ll go back asking for an additional 20K RSU or not.
Are you planning to accept and join, either way ?

How big are the balls of Google to lay off thousands and then do 70 BILLION in stock buyback?
Shoot for the higher end of the comp. at Tesla. For the Staff GSM, the range you mentioned is good. Negotiate from the higher end of the range, you may end up with higher than median.
Thank you for the advice and perspective! I’ll aim to negotiate the top end of the range.
