They even have a group for workers kids who are CS majors to refer them. Truly disgusting practice. Isn’t the whole point getting fresh faces?
Lmao when people talk about nepotism, nobody thinks it’s about a summer intern
It is not just in workday. Everywhere… Interns are temporary workers. If you know the hiring manager through friends or family there is no harm in asking for help in this tough market.
Airbnb
Once at my previous company, we had an intern who was not only referred by his parent, he was also a legacy admit to college due to the same parent. He was the WORST intern I’ve ever worked with by far. Did not know how to code at all. His parent also referred his brother who attended the same college.
In G, I have seen whosoever L9 refers, made it to Google anyhow. I think the same goes everywhere.
Plenty of this happening at every tech company, it’s just a cultural thing
Not SDEs, directors, VPs and SVPs too
This company was built on nepotism/cronyism
Lol the cycle starts
What's wrong with that ? Referral doesn't mean hire whom ever, it'll give you a chance for an interview.
The market is tough. It would be foolish not to take any help if available.
