Can anyone who has experienced Netflix' "adequate performance is met with generous severance" share your story? 1. Is there stack ranking? 2. How is the PIP and severance? 3. Culture change post Reed's departure #netflix #pip TC: 0, currently interviewing with them
Which team and role do you interview for?
Reed departed all of 3 days ago…
Just do your job and you’ll be fine. It’s not the scary thing everyone makes it out to be
Dmed you
It gives managers flexibility to let go of mediocre people. If you are doing your job, it's nothing to freak out about. There is no stack ranking. There is no PIP. Severance is generous and is in our culture memo that you can view externally. Not sure if question 3 is a joke or not.
Sweet
This is good information, thanks
Netflix is not for those who are afraid of being fired. That fear will stifle your ability to take initiative and go discover and solve problems.

You would be fine if you know how to do your job. Netflix is just being explicit that it doesn’t want to be a place for rest and vesters
