Netflix consistently makes bad decision after bad decision. This is yet another one. Microsoft has the worst ad product and sales team. It will severely limit Netflix’s ad revenue. I’m not suggesting Amazon’s ad products are better. Turning down google is going to prove to be shit, at a time when Netflix very much needs a good strategic decision. #netflix #Microsoft #google #amazon
Well, if you say so.
The only reason Netflix went with MS is because MS does not have a TV/video service (Prime Video, YouTube, Apple TV+). Win win for Netflix and MS.
Good point. They had no choice. It’s a win for Microsoft temporarily. Netflix needs revenue and this will be a shit way to deliver it on both sides. Microsoft targeting sucks and Netflix will have irrelevant ads on their user experience. Netflix will have to reduce it or shut it down and then Microsoft won’t benefit either
How exactly MS will help Netflix?
Every 5 minutes if streaming youll get an upsell to buy office. The app will purposely barely function unless used on an Xbox Series X
Netflix needs money faster than they can build an ad server. They will use Microsoft’s server. This means companies that use Microsoft’s ad server can place their ads onto Netflix. Msft and Netflix both get a cut from the company using the ad server.
Microsoft moves too slow, not good for Netflix
I mean considering the amount of red tape yes. There's a ton of privacy, security crap that needs to be done to ship any feature. But it's the right way.
Also, Microsoft has the least headwinds flowing their way from the senate.
Under appreciated comment.
I seriously doubt that was a consideration or has any relevance to the advertising partnership
I am surprised how opinionated people are about microsoft. They don’t understand that they are the one of most valuable company more than any other company mentioned above Google Amazon etc. what that implies is that microsoft knows how to do business and make money, maybe they are not the best but they know how to do business which most tech firms lack including Google, Netflix, Roku etc
They definitely don’t know how to do advertising.
Their ad revenue is still bigger than Amazon
Microsoft reported more than $10 billion in advertising revenue last year with its news and search offerings seeing a 32% annual upswing in spend during the period... If that's the worst I'd like to be the worst
Look at their advertising market share. It’s nothing
OP were you fired by microsoft by any chance. You just stuck by the same argument. Have you heard that multiple players coexist in same space. Walmart is still bigger than Amazon in retail, Amazon should shut down their retail business.
Sounds like you're jealous that they didn't throw Amazon and AWS the work given Netflix is/has been a massive AWS customer. 🤡🤡🤡
Question is how long, Netflix gonna fund their competitor.
Lol what a bs post :D, make yourself a favor and remove it
Somebody is jelly
This is like the Kmart Sears partnership
