I've always heard that Netflix was anti-remote, and yet I glanced through the careers page and see a growing number of remote jobs posted. Is this just because of COVID? I am currently an engineering manager at AWS (L6) and have mixed feelings on Amazon. Some aspects I like, others are terrible--same as anywhere else, N included of course. That said N vastly outpays Amazon, anyone know the future outlook on working a few years for N on the East Coast? I don't care about getting promoted at this point, just comp. I have a few projects I want to wrap up at Amazon before leaving for resume purposes, any thoughts on whether N will be remote viable at the end of '21? Current: L6 SDM AWS, 350k TC
Yes. We will be. Covid initiated being remote friendly. Now several engineering orgs are open to having remote folks on the team. Even folks who currently are in the Bay Area and work for Netflix are relocating
thank you!
Thanks. I was really puzzled about this after seeing articles like this - https://www.theverge.com/2020/9/8/21426956/netflix-ceo-reed-hastings-return-to-office-vaccine-working-from-home-negative
