In the book Netflix ceo talk about talent density. But on LinkedIn I see all mediocre talent at Netflix. I think Netflix is good at getting work done using fear among employee rather than the stuff ceo talk in the book. What you guys think?
“I see all mediocre talent At Netflix” - Okay sir.
Does Netflix talent are as par as google or fb ?
I read no rules rules. Sounded pretty toxic.
Many of the cultural aspects praised in this book are what I think are personally huge failings of the Netflix culture. Netflix has good talent, in junior levels, and then doesn’t actually develop them. L6+, Netflix has very little talent.
Interesting how someone at Roku can see “mediocre talent” at Netflix via LinkedIn.
I never say roku has superior talent. But I can recognize the difference between mediocre talent and great talent.
How so? By judging them by their previous experiences @ no name companies and college name?
Talent density is much less than advertised. You probably find 1-2 A players in every team. The rest of the book is pretty accurate.
The engineering talent at Netflix is subpar at best.
I have not read the book, but the culture at Netflix is pretty amazing. Yes, not everyone is a stunning colleague. I'm a very mediocre engineer who happened to get lucky and land a job at Netflix. But, there are definitely a ton of really smart people. Maybe they don't care about linked in or whatever metric u decide is important. If you want to find out, apply get a job and get to know first hand.
Netflix is overflowing with top talent.
