Netflix culture in 2024?
Interviewing with Netflix for L4. I am curious about the available engineering problems and the culture. Given that levels have been newly introduced, what growth and performance expectations exist for <L5 engineers, if any? Will I be disappointed if I am expecting the culture to be like the culture memo? How are the core infra and systems teams? TC: 275k, 3YOE #netflix #engineering #culture

Not bad so far. Cultural fit evaluation seems serious. Not done interviewing yet. Waiting for onsite.

How were the interviews now you done with it? Are they asking LC questions while telling they will not doing LC?
I don’t know about internal culture, but at Google, ex-Netflix directors and leaders are cutthroat. Very high expectations, very much all about the work. I know a director who cut 4 people right around the holidays just to secure headcount for this year. Basically sent an org email saying they weren’t good enough. 3 did not find other positions and had to leave Google, 1 found a position but in a ladder transfer (downgrade). Extra fucked because no one is hiring internally/everyone is out in Nov/December.
