Hey MS Is the hiring manager has the ultimate hire or no hire decision? What are the main tech questions i should expect ? #microsoft
most of them is same, market is not growing and tech is really same. finding new job getting harder
Disagree
Why do you assume the hiring manager is a male? The answer to your question is yes...the hiring manager makes the call.
Good call!!! In fact my manager is a female lol! But at amazon both bar raiser and hiring manager got the ultimate decision not only hiring manager. I got phone screening with hiring manager and trying to understand if it is going to be a tech or behavior qq or both
There is a concept called “as-is” which is the manager of the manager that is hiring. Which would be your “skip” manager. Generally it’s a really good idea that this person gives you the thumbs up...otherwise the hiring manager can go against consensus...but it will be at the cost of political capital. I have never seen a direct manager be a part of the hiring loop, but that’s just my experience at MSFT
Does the hiring manager has the power to send an offer after only a phone screening ?
No. There must be a loop, the offer will come from the recruiting office and generally the hiring manager will not be the negotiator.
So the hiring manager cant make hire decision after one hour screening..right?
lets move from network to SWE! I am in network backbone, but willing to move. dont want to play around cisco , BGP, MPLS etc
Why?
