I am not sure what is it that is wrong with my resume. I have tried multiple times in Google and never got a call not even phone round or any coding challenge. Even when I applied via referrals. During my degree I could see all of my class mates got the coding challenge at least. I didn't get it. I am currently Software Engineer 3 on H1B valid till 2023 and I have tried for all possible roles to get a call from Google. Any tips on what they actually look for. I am looking for jobs like Software Engineer, Backend Developer. I have gotten calls from almost every other company I have applied to, got some offers and have some interviews scheduled as well. #swe #google #jobs #referral I wrote back to recruiter as well who sent me the rejection email asking specifics but no luck. I think you said create a post like this ‘Roast My Resume’
Yeah I think Google roasted me already by rejecting bunch of times. May be I should print that resume out and actually roast it now
Btw, if you have a good linkedin profile then you no need to apply for any company. They will reach out to you.
I was in the same boat as you my friend. I applied on portal and got auto reject mails for nearly 3 years, until a recruiter reached out over LinkedIn just by luck and that 🎯 Also there are far more companies in the same and better league as G, so don't fret over it
What are they looking for? Specifically for those standard Software Engineer roles
Take this one for example Software Engineer https://g.co/kgs/CpTMpM
Are you a Stanford graduate?
No
Why? What's up with Stanford graduates?
First level of filtering. Must have a Gmail for the email communication.
That's normal. I was an intern there, had good reviews. I had 2 referrals now and got rejections for most positions. Thankfully, recruiter thought one position is a match, so I got an interview after 2 years of trying to score one. It's insane, I guess there are hundereds of qualified candidates per position.
Every time I've been contacted by a Google recruiter, it was through LinkedIn. Create a profile if you don't already have one and start polishing it.
Post your resume here. We will give feedback! :)
Hahaha I would if I could.
