Care to throw some light 💡?
You learn a ton at Amazon and it’s great for your resume. 2-4 years at Amazon is like a second degree as a new grad. It opens all doors. If you manage to string together a few promos then you can also grow your scope quickly. It’s not out of the question if this is the case it’s a long term option. Otherwise you learned a ton and got one of the top companies in tech on your resume.
How about never join Amazon ever
Join a company where you use open source tech . That helps develop a good tech foundation
No open source at Amazon.. you'll face a lot of problems when you'll be interviewing after working at Amazon.
What? AWS skills are almost universally valued
Right out of college is the best time to join amazon honestly.
Please explain
Amazon will turn a college hire into a solid SDE 2 in <= 2 years. You will learn a ton and become familiar with the culture without being exposed to much of the horrific middle management layer. If you like it here, you have a solid foundation for a long career. If you don’t, you will have no problems landing interviews anywhere else.
Amazon was great for me to jump start my tech career, but I stayed a little bit too long maybe. Great place as a 2 year first stop
