Currently a senior at school and had my offer rescinded from a top HFT firm this week as part of major layoffs across the firm for SWE. I've just been notified of this and am wondering if anyone has New Grad applications actively hiring (or possibly referrals) for their firms or other tech companies. If not, anyone has advice for someone in my position? TC: Formerly (300k+) --> $0 #tech #layoffs
What was the HFT firm?
Brutal, my advice is to keep your head up. Im not sure where the best data source for openings is but im sure someone will chime in on that. Rooting for you.
Damn bro. I’m sorry.
Your old new grad tc would have been more than most experienced ICs where I’m at. That’s rough
Make one of those cringy linkedin posts saying your offer from there was rescinded. If it's actually a top hft firm then it'll be signal to other recruiters that you actually are good.
Is it really a top hft if it's doing layoffs?
In your case making a LinkedIn post might be beneficial. Shows that you were able to secure a top HFT offer and that you are looking for opportunities. Of course don’t bash the company in the post
DM for Raytheon
Could I DM too? Also a NG that got their offer rescinded (not from Anduril)
Sure!
I think naming the company would help your case.
Probably Akuna Capital.
Is Akuna currently doing layoffs? I thought trading was supposed to be one of the safest industries during market downturn
