American police seem to work only when Israel is challenged
Got a return offer from Amazon, which I accepted at the time. Received a better offer now, and won't be joining amazon. Does amazon blacklist people who do this? Or, do I have a shot at getting into amazon again?
Amazon reneged new grad offer right before start day. So, why can't you do the same?
Because op wants Amazon now more than Amazon wants op
If they blacklist you they’d be doing you a favor.
True
This!
they say they do
Unlikely to be blacklisted based on my experience. Totally agree that Amazon would (and has) rescinded offers frequently lately. Doesn’t make any sense for there to be a double standard. Amazon has now set the precedent that offers are not binding and can change at anytime. All applicants should behave accordingly imo.
They have rescinded many new grad offers, this could happen to you. Just saying this so you never feel bad about rescinding their offer.
Amazon is a company not a horny middle schooler. A company cannot by definition take things personally. This may be disappointing for some but the realities of hiring are boring and logistical. I doubt anyone on the hiring team would even take it personally. Everyone has bigger fish to fry and this sort of thing happens all the time. It’s fair game. Will there be a note in your hiring profile? Maybe. Will it impact future hiring? Probably not. But even if it did who really cares.
You should be fine. You probably burned a bridge with the one hiring manager.
But you forgot about the five people you interviewed with.
There is no blacklist don't worry.
No blacklist. You have nothing to worry about.
Big mistake. Of course a company is going to blacklist you for reneging. Really immature and foolish of you to do this even for a shitty company like Amazon
Disagree. Blacklist could happen but isn’t guaranteed. Just depends on the team/manger. I also wouldn’t say it’s “immature” or “foolish” to take a better offer. Quite the opposite in fact. Gotta do what’s best for you and your career. Like Microsoft pointed out, Amazon wouldn’t think twice about rescinding an offer if it was in their best interest. Why shouldn’t you be allowed to do the same? Don’t be a corporate d*ckrider like our friend here at Zillow lol.
I'm not a corporate dickrider. I'm just intelligent. But alright good luck to ya
