For a company with such a large Tel Aviv presence (30+), to not even drop a quick note in #general really speaks to leadership being checked out. Isn't the whole Grok team there? Edit: I'm not looking for a public statement, but an internal one sure would be nice. @NewRelic #NewRelic #Israel
Maybe the leadership is trying to determine the safety of team members instead of crafting a virtue signaling message.
Sure would be nice to be able to give leadership that benefit of the doubt.
If you can do one you can do both. Virtue signaling messages are crafted by internal PR. I don't think they're the ones getting in touch with people on the ground in Israel.
Too busy prepping to slaughter their own team via layoffs
Our CEO sent an email to the entire company.
Is this satire? Why does a mid size tech company need to have a public opinion on any global event?
Not asking for a public opinion, but acknowledgement about the immediate impact to employees would be nice
Cue the pitchfork mob now!
Asking every company to comment on *every* thing is getting a little ridiculous. “My country is being invaded, better make sure the PR team is on it instead of taking care of my own family. My paragraph written in the general thread on Slack is sure to make a meaningful difference.”
It's a little different when you have a significant presence in the country. A quick note of "We're doing everything we can for impacted employees" doesn't feel unreasonable, much like companies do after a natural disaster strikes a city with a large office
Maybe instead of looking for reasons to be angry with people you should be looking for ways that you can help instead.
Agree, set an example and write a message for support, or organize a way to outreach and try to help impacted employees? If your leaders don’t seem like they’re doing anything, do something. And if they are, they’ll be pleased to get help and to help you.
Does that mean new relic supports terrorists?
There, was that so hard? (CEO finally posted to General)
Was waiting for you to create a thread on mental health day silence post lol
Have they dropped any notes during Israeli massacres agains the Palestinian people?
The situation in general is complicated and you're absolutely right that in the macro view, the casualties and cruelty are very one sided with Israel as the aggressor. Doesn't change the fact that you've had employees in safe rooms and bomb shelters all weekend, who are now 2 weekdays into a work week. You can express support for employees impacted while also staying nuanced about the politics and the fact that this "conflict" is never ending
Can you remind me when Israelis deliberately slaughtered hundreds of innocent people and kidnapped hundreds of people putting babies in cages? Supporting Hamas = supporting isis = supporting 9/11. I didn't know there are so many pro-terrorosts in the US 😬
