I worked my ass off during school and am lucky to have received 4 really good offers (+ 1 final round interview that I’m assured I’ll do fine on). Need to write down my thoughts and get some insight on what I should pick Oscar Health: ~$200,000 I interned for Oscar and had an amazing time. The work life balance was amazing (we had Fridays as half-days and worked ~35 hours a week). The pay is amazing and the equity package is generous. What I really like about Oscar is that they give their equity in terms of number of shares. So let’s say they’re giving me $45,000 in shares. Oscar is $16.96 a share. If Oscar goes to $34 (the price it was at IPO), I’ll be earning $90,000 a year in equity. This doesn’t include promotions or bonuses. I can also negotiate a sign on bonus if I choose to pick this one My only problem with this company is that the actual day-to-day work is a little boring. But I love the company and it’s culture Big M: ~$210,000 Very prestigious company that I heard nothing but good things about. I’d be working on the Cloud and AI team; which also seems really interesting. There’s also the “having it on your resume” (in addition to the amount of equity in a very established, very good company). Roku: ~$200,000 Very high growth company and the team seems really interesting. I’m also very strongly bullish on Roku stock. I think it’ll genuinely be the next Netflix. I’ve also gotten to know the manager of the team very well, and I like him a lot. Their offer is also similar to Oscar’s in the sense that they are awarding me a certain number of shares. They also have a unique “MakeGood bonus” that, in the event Roku’s stock drops and I make less than $200k a year, they will give me a bonus so that my total compensation for the year is at least $200,000. Square: ~$170,000 By far my lowest offer, but it’s still very good. The people who interviewed me seemed to REALLY really like working for square. I also like the CEO and am very bullish on square stock. I’m actually still interviewing but unless the interview is just drastically different than the first 3 I think I’ll do fine Tiktok: Unknown Going over offer details on Monday. levels.FYI suggest the average is ~$205,000, which is in line with my other offers. They’re also going to IPO soon, and I think it would be awesome to experience an IPO and load up on shares before the company goes public.
You didn’t get the FB return offer?
I’m posting on behalf of my twin brother. I did get and accepted the FB return offer
Jesus you're gonna be making more at Microsoft than I made after 9 years. Congrats on the great offers!
Inflation and hot job market.
Lol inflation, no.
What’s the M split?
Congrats! Is this after a BS, MS, or PhD?
MS from a tier 1 (think Stanford) Ivy
Roku will not be the next Netflix or anywhere near it lmao
Choose the company based on 1) the people you work with and 2) your passion for the problem your team is trying to solve The compensation is close enough that I think you shouldn’t consider it as highly as the 2 points above.
Fake
How is this fake? These are very ordinary offers from these companies
