New house in Bothell vs old home in Kirkland

Price is almost the same.Bothell is $20K cheaper and looks fantastic. Kirkland looks dated (built in60s) and could do with a few updates. Which one would you rather?

Location, location, location

Seattle is even better.

Yeah if only I could afford Seattle. Only looking at SFH.

Kirkland

Bothell just sounds ghetto. When someone asks where you’re from? Id rather say Kirkland.

Microsoft msnewbie Nov 6, 2019

Exactly, Bothell sounds like you are from countryside.

This may very well be the dumbest reason for choosing Kirkland over Bothell.

Microsoft horizontal Nov 6, 2019

Bothell without a doubt.

Intel DV_GUY Nov 6, 2019

What about Sammamish and Issaquah ?

Microsoft msnewbie Nov 6, 2019

They are boring countryside, man!

What’s the difference in your commute?

Facebook public2 Nov 6, 2019

Kirkland obviously. All that matters is location. You can remodel the kirkland house, you cannot improve the bothel location.

Expedia Group FRFe41 OP Nov 6, 2019

Well the schools in Bothell are better compared to the Juanita area of Kirkland. My commute is almost equidistant. Bothell is up and coming and has a bunch of like-minded people in their early 30s which makes me feel like it has a lot of potential to grow compared to Kirkland which seems to have a much mature population. The neighborhood in Kirkland that I am looking at has mostly old retired or people in their late 40s or early 50s with grown up kids.

Looking at all the comments now and laughing. Hope you did buy in Bothell and doubled your house value.
