Niantic ipo??
Anyone know if niantic would ipo soon. Interviewing with them and want to see if it might be worth for swe. Yoe 3 Tc 200k
It's a fine company if you want to work on games for a decent wage. Leadership isn't particularly inspiring though.
I'd guess ipo/acquisition will take place in 1-2 years. For what it's worth, I love my job.

No idea when, CEO stresses that he wants to build a forever company. I second loving my job/coworkers and that there's a lot of growth happening.
I think culture varies a lot depending on what team you work on. I know many coworkers absolutely hate working on the Pokémon GO org and are overworked, there are many working 60 hour weeks. But I know on other projects there are more positive WLB.
It's a good company overall and there are other liquidity events that you can cash out RSUs.
What kind of liquidity events? Has it happened before?

Niantic is a shit company. Look at their reviews on blind. Look at their reviews on Glassdoor. They pretend to be cutting edge AR tech company but in reality the operate like a mobile gaming company. Their only worthwhile âproductâ was PokĂ©mon go. Everything else has been underwhelming. Plus, John Hanke is a micromanaging two faced CEO. So! Even if they were to IPO I would stay the hell away.

Their defense is that they are building something like metaverse. But theyâre actually putting all effort into PokĂ©mon go to squeeze every single penny out of their players.
