I'm looking at roles similar or better than my current role in Seattle. When I look at Nike job postings, it looks like "Director" job titles have a very low bar of expectations in the job description. For example, nearly every one I look at is 3-5 years of experience, whereas I have 15, and none seem to include managing a team, and I already have years of management experience with direct reports. Can someone tell me what sort of titles Nike uses for actual managers of people who are looking for more senior roles? E.g. most would call these roles a senior manager, director, or senior director. #nike #beaverton
Don’t come to Nike. Peanut TC. Leaving soon to Seattle
The org is very weird. Agree with previous reply that TC is low compared to Seattle. They only try to complete with Intel. When I was there a manager would have 30+ direct reports, but only 3-5 full time. That has changed since. Ask the band. For someone with 15 yoe, you should get E band. The would be director to senior director. Admittedly, the experience I had was very good. Plenty of opportunity to do something significant and occasional run-ins with sports celebs. There were some parts/people I would avoid, though. Be wary of the alpha male culture. From what I've heard, most of that should have been weeded out.
I'm having a hard time with this title business, too. I'm 15 YOE, and I cannot believe the variation in levels at different companies.
I dunno, I used to work at Amazon, and my TC at Nike this year is ~$220K-$240K. You’re probably looking for a Senior Director role
@pmprincess. What role? Have few questions about Nike tech role levelings and pay bands. Do you mind if I DM you?
Nike, for sure has title inflation. I have buddies who got director title right out of MBA. They may be had 2-3 years of work experience after undergrad.
