Just wrapped final interviews for Marketing Manager role with Nike and wanted to understand insight into Salary Bands. HR recruiter didn’t provide information and I didn’t give expectations in order to save room for negotiation if offered. 6YOE , Masters, Position is in WHQ #marketing #nike
Think 145-150 is cap for band U within design
Thanks that aligns with current company at that level
For context a manager at Nike or Adidas in PDX typically earns $120 - $160k max annually. That’s with experience in company tho. Unfortunately the recruiter is going to try and sell you on PDX cost of living, the perks of being at Nike and the culture. They don’t really waiver because of the influx of talent they receive. You can negotiate on your upfront bonus and stock options, but salary will be tough if you’re already asking for the higher end of comp. You do have a masters, so maybe shoot for a sr level or director level instead of manager to get more comp wiggle room. My advice is to bite the bullet, take the gig and title for 2 years to have on your resume. Learn your skill set throughly and then parlay that into a high six figure comp at a tech company. Netflix, Amazon, and google hire a lot of former Nike employees.
Hi, if between Nike and Apple what would you recommend? Considering the TC is the same, then which is better for Wlb, benefits, growth, and opportunity to land in Google/Meta/Netflix?
Thanks a lot for the insight, I have final informal this week, hopefully offer is pending
No idea. Less than tech. For context, a family member was a senior member of the design org at Nike, she only had a few dozen peers at the same level globally. About six or seven years ago we had a candid conversation about salaries, and she said she had TC around 250k that year because the stock had done exceptionally well. She should have studied coding 😂
