In my recent call with Meta recruiter, he told me that there won’t be any dynamic programming problems in my upcoming on-site interview. Can I trust him and ignore practicing those from Leetcode even if they are tagged with Facebook and Meta ?? #engineering #software #meta #facebook #facebookinterview
Yes. This policy has been in place for more than a year. They do not ask dp questions anymore.
Meta may be seen as an evil company by some, but I respect them for not asking those bullshit crappy dp questions which can be solved optimally in 45 mins only if u memorized the solution previously.
But backtracking is still possibility
Nice!
DP questions really make no sense. They are very unintuitive and I think less than 0.01% of software engineers will ever need it in a real job.
Safe to add another zero in between.
They're never useful for a software engineer. DP initially emerged as a mathematical optimization method and much later as an algorithmic paradigm. It's only useful for Math/CS researchers.
A lot of 'DP' tagged questions can be solved without DP with better space complexity and also the non-DP solution is easier to grasp IMO.
That’s correct, I will keep that in mind.
Hello sir ma'am good morning! Pl post yr package
I gave my onsite recently and can confirm no Dp. DM me for any questions
Following
Thanks
no dp indeed, but still stupid ‘convert binary tree to double linked list in-order, using only recursion’
Do they specifically say "you can only use recursion"?
Haha this is a good problem
Can confirm we don't ask DP questions.
