Snap is ending a benefit for employees to buy food during the work week. The perk was a weekly stipend between $60 and $80 given on a "meal card" or as a payroll stipend to workers at the Snapchat parent company. It was started in the early days of the pandemic given employees suddenly no longer had access to catered food offered at Snap's Santa Monica headquarters. It also afforded Snap employees who worked in other offices that did not offer catered food some parity on a company perk they'd never had access to. https://www.businessinsider.com/snap-ending-food-perk-citing-on-site-meals-and-rto-2023-8
The end is here!!
There’s still free meals in office. They’re sunsetting the meal stipend since RTO 4 days a week.
So what about the 5th day when you wfh?
You starve to death
Didn't they have this yellow card before the first layoffs pre-pandemic, they ended it and then they brought it back and now they are ending it again?
Yes - Too many take backs
Oh snap!
We needed to cut some fat(ties)
OMG they gonna be so hungry!
How are they gonna survive? So no dinners?
Still have dinner at the office. But now how to stay late if you want free food
We Rather hire directors at 4m TC than feed our beautiful peasant engineers
Why some directors don't last even a year? Do they get fired or just can bear with Evan & co?
Shit I’m about to join (NYC) and was looking forward to a meal card in addition to the free food in office
It’s until October 15. Cherish while it’s still there
How are you liking it at Snapchat so far?
