Got an offer at Nordstrom? Does it pay the bonus or do they also shy away from it? Also any risk of layoffs? YOE: 3 years TC 210K #softwaredevelopersalary
TC 190K, not sure if they are low balling.
What is the breakdown and level?
Software Engineer II. Base is 145K and rest bonus
Whats your current TC?
Mentioned in post!
Only accept if you plan to boomerang. Nordstrom is bad when it comes to bonus pay. Go with another FAANG if you can.
There has been a layoff and reorg every year for some time now. Bonus payout is rare and "target" is set as a reach. You should consider cash only as your actual TC.
It’s terrible here, don’t waste your time.
Bonus for FY2023 was 70% of target and that’s about what it’s been year over year through the pandemic. My understanding is Nordstrom always paid it prior to the pandemic. Your experience here will be team dependent. Any details you can share so I can gauge what it would be like?
All above are true. - They used to pay 100% or more before Pandemic - Last FY was overall ~70% - From next year onwards, bonuses will be given based on EBIT %. For example if Target EBIT is set for $500M and company achieves $400M - that means employees will receive 80% of the target bonus. This wasn't the case until FY23. With above change, hoping to receive better bonus compared to last year - but, who knows!
I’m 5YOE Seattle 150k base. Don’t count on bonuses. All engineering teams across the company are riding on fumes at this point (worrying about who’s next to be cut with layoffs, overloaded work, burn out). Leadership doesn’t actually seem to care about the direction in which the company is going or how its employees feel; their only response is to cut headcount and merge teams to make it seem like they’re doing something productive and innovative when all it’s done is create confusion, disorganization, and increased deliverable workload/deadlines. If the job market weren’t so bad, Nordstrom would have a significant amount of people leaving. You’ve been warned.
I love how everyone says don’t join. That’s why I’m on leetcode grind now.
How much are they offering?
