Northrop grumman benefit deduction.

I just got an offer from Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach sector. Before i start negotiating the salary, however, i want to know how much NGC decucts, per paycheck, for dental, vision and health. If it helps, let us assume most expensive plan for all 3. Anything helps atm. I am just feeling with initial offer, i will be making less per paycheck, after taxes/deduction. Also, how is the culture (dress code, work/life balance/etc?)

What is your gross tc offer?

Virgin Orbit imurfatha OP Jun 3, 2020

125k for a l3 job. 6yoe

Most of defense is about the same although with the offer in CA it probably scales somewhat but not near enough to make up for the lower col areas. I think I get $40 deducted from each paycheck for a PPO for Boeing? Don’t quote me on that. Dress code will be casual, about anything goes as long as you look somewhat presentable. Wlb is unbeatable for defense. If can vary a little depending on job but it’s generally put in your 40 hours that can be worked at any reasonable time and it shouldn’t be stressful. Lots of intelligent positive coworkers overall. Lots of beauracracy causing a slow work pace. If you have a clearance lots of job security and cooler projects. You can get promoted quick early in your career but you hit a wall around level 4 and I could see pay being an issue then.

Ty for your insight. How long does it normally take for lvl3 to l4 transition?

Northrop Grumman yeetmyself Jun 3, 2020

NG is min 7 yoe w/ masters for T04

Northrop Grumman yeetmyself Jun 3, 2020

I’m at the $30 biweekly ballpark for a medium HDHP plan. Dental is probably $5, and vision is $0. Also, midpoint salary for T03 in that area is around $120k, so you did pretty well.

Virgin Orbit imurfatha OP Jun 3, 2020

Ty for your insight as well. I assume you are providing ins. For yourself only. Is that the case? Also, you said about 7yoe min as a whole work exp right?

Northrop Grumman yeetmyself Jun 4, 2020

Ins? Yes, min 7 yoe w/ masters for a T04

NG.. Middle tier family plan with $2800 deductible / $6k max out of pocket = $175 per biweekly paycheck. I think I remember the most expensive tier is double that cost for around half the deductible. Dental around $15 per paycheck.

My apologies for typo. I meant to ask if your contribution for hdhp plan is for yourself only (not the family). Also, Hiring team did not mention, but is ngc lvl3 engineer eligible for any profit sharing or annual bonuses? If so, what should i expect?

Northrop Grumman iwgc Jun 9, 2020

No profit sharing at NG. Directors and NG Fellows are eligible for the AIP which includes perks like stock etc. T3 can get a bonus if you get a 5 (Top Performer) in your performance review. I forgot what percentage it is as it changed based on lvl. For instance an M3 can get 10% with just a 4 performance review if I recall. T1 is 3% lol. 125 for T3 is solid

Think mines like 95$ every two weeks. Granted in a totally different state, similar TC and different company

Northrop Grumman karoshi_ Jun 12, 2020

Health+Dental+Vision (spouse +family) = $233 every 2 weeks And the deductible is still very high
