I see tons of posts from people who are working with their recruiters and they give out basically every detail there is on their offers, interview stages, etc on Blind, asking for advice. Don't recruiters check Blind too? If I was a recruiter for Google, for example, I'd read all Google posts and be like hmmm...this sounds pretty familiar...this person is interviewing here/has an offer, and now he's spilling the beans on all of his other offers, his opinions of everything, and now I can Google search all his other Blind posts with his username (I change my username frequently because of this). I know it's really tempting to get feedback on here, but isn't it also kind of risky? It's not the username that identifies you, it's your actual post content. Does nobody else wonder about this or am I just overreacting?
For larger companies data is anonymized by virtue of scale, for smaller companies people don’t give out names.
You can add a delta to the offer (+/- 5%) to make it more anonymous.
Actually just fabricate every detail by a little bit, but so the point will stay the same.
Add the poll option: “Recruiters literally don’t give a fucking crap about your post on Blind”
This
Normally I'd be inclined to think this way but some negotiation strategies depend on information hiding and losing that edge could potentially mean the difference of tens of thousands of dollars
I don't think any recruiter would want to spend time on blind to maybeeeeee find some information on their current candidate
Recruiters are more savvy than you think. They don't need to snoop on blind. They assume people bullshit and bluff about "competing" offers, current TC and similar stuff. Their job is to get you to sign within range. Not necessarily lowest offer (as they are not monitored on that), rather they start smaller to have room to negotiate.
Blind isn’t the only way for people to share offer information
It's not the recruiters. I've seen several people mention specifics about a job they are interviewing for. Who cares about the recruiter, all the engineers/manager they interviewed with may use this and if they just did a round of interviews and see a post that sounds like their team + poster who works at company one of their candidates did I'm sure they can connect the dots.
Nobody got time for that.
Knowledge is power both ways.
