Hilarious observation on Yelp

I am on yelp trying to find a good Indian restaurant to order take out. I read the reviews of my local Indian restaurants and all the positive 4-5 star reviews are from non Indians. Indians give BRUTAL reviews on all Indian restaurants 😂 Ey man what gives? It’s hilarious, I’m trying to figure out which place is decent and ofcourse I’m going to ignore John Smith’s 5 star review because the chances are he doesnt know his elbow from his ass when it comes to Indian food. But if you look for a review from Sandeep? dude gives 2 star because butter chicken was a bit too tangy. 😂 shit man. chill out!

Because it’s not how mom used to make it. It seems like Indians hate each other quite often.

Most races stick together. Chinese, Russians, etc.. But not indians - they divide themselves by region and language and then work against anyone not in their little circle, including other Indians.

It is very hard to find "authentic" Indian food outside India. Which, in my personal opinion, is because Indian cuisine requires dozens of spices, considerable cooking time, and sometimes a fair amount of manpower to get some sense of variety on the menu. Plus, a lot of "Indian" restaurants are actually Pakistanis, Bangladeshis or Nepalis, rebranding themselves as Indian restaurant and serving their own version of Indian food. Edit: I should add that I don't blame non-Indian south asian community selling Indian food for anything. South Asian food doesn't have as diverse recognition as their east asian counterparts. Some popular app like Uber Eats don't even have easy-to-follow quick links for non-Indian South Asian cuisine.

For the life of me I can’t understand why Indian restaurants here can’t make decent food. I mean paav bhaji isn’t that hard to make. And don’t even get me started on butter chicken 😖

Basically, you can buy reviews for a negligible cost. Go to John Smith's other review's, he would have traveled 30 countries in a year and reviewed 300 random places. We once saw a new restaurant open in Santa Clara CA. I was also new to the US with only a few friends in that area. It hardly had a capacity of 15 people, but had 400 reviews in 2 days. (Opened on Friday and we were checking on Sunday).
