On behalf of a friend (new grad, India) I already have a Nutanix offer(PPO), TC: 26L (20L base + ~4.5Lacs stock + 1.5L joining, not adding relocation bonus). Work is majorly in C++ , hence wanted to know growth and opportunities when switching in case I go with Nutanix. D.E. Shaw (hyderabad) recruiter has contacted. A bit loaded right now, hence will prepare for interviews only if it is a better opportunity. From what I know (from internet), work here will be in Java/Python and base around 22 LPA and decent bonuses. Might go for MS(masters) later, not sure about this part. Please share your opinion on the choice. #nutanix #deshaw #india #software #swe P.S. Have added a poll, but looking for more subjective answers
Sdet? I thought rubrik takes only IITians for SDE
I work as a Newgrad at DE Shaw , If you are from IIT , your TC would be 36-40 L , 25-27 base , Also the work is quite good , You get complete ownership of the work you do , fast culture (maybe a problem for some ) , I interned at MFST , and can tell you that the impact created by Newgrad here is equivalent to what sde2 creates at Mfst . I work in one of the front office trading team , so it opens door for not only tech but also other hedge funds , hfts.I was contacted by an US based Hedge Fund , which were willing to pay me 50L . Atleast for Newgrad , If you have a DE Shaw only probable company which can beat their offer is some other Hfts , so In my opinion he can atleast Interview since its a tough nut to crack and can later decide . The opportunities which he would get would be unmatched .
You rejected Microsoft PPO?
Yeah , here with me many ppl joined who rejected ppo from Mfst , Uber , Amazon ,etc
Which team/department at DE Shaw?
Fresher, hence no info on that front.
If you like engineering, Nutanix is better because they're doing a lot of work in cloud where there's a lot of exciting stuff going on. On the other hand, if you find mathatics/calculus/quants/puzzles more attractive then DE Shaw.
Found nutanix work interesting. Don't know any non-nutanix friends who are using C++ at work, hence wanted to know how that contributes in case of switching to other firms.
CPP is fairly common at google, many teams at Microsoft also use it, and some HFTs
