I have an offer from Nvidia and I can join either Nov 29 or Dec 6. Can someone please explain how RSU vesting happens and how the number of units is decided based on joining date? Trying to understand if it makes sense to join earlier. Blind tax: Old TC~140k New TC~265k Edit: MS+5.5 YOE. IC4 remote. GPU system perf Arch Role. Breakdown: Base 188k RSUs: 300k/4 Bonus: 45k #hardware #interview #semiconductor
Ask your recruiter or Joshua. 190 + 300/4 ?
Hahaha wth 🤣
Did you get a similar offer? Or is this the same position you interviewed for or something? Lol.
Join Nov (cut off 29th) - 1st vest Dec 2022 Join Dec - 1st vest March 2023 You will lose Intel APB and QPB either way. Unless you join on Jan 4th and stay on Intel payroll till Dec 31.
APB and QPB I am gonna miss either way. I just wanted to know how they calculate the nvidia RSU stock price. I think they take average price of stock close for every day in the month you join, which makes a big difference if you’re joining in Nov vs in Dec because it literally just went up like 15% or so in Nov and they also have an earnings call tomorrow. Lots to think about if you don’t wanna lose those extra stock units.
Why would joining in Dec result in a first vesting date of March’2023?
Your YOE?
5.5 YOE masters
What role is it for? Guessing it is ic4
November for sure, I joined in October and my vesting happened in December. It’s quarterly
So no 1 year from date of joining for first vest?
Nope
Congratulations and welcome aboard!
Yoe, location, IC level?
5.5/Remote/IC4
It's a 100% remote role?
I will be joining NVIDIA mid Dec due to Visa process how ever what I was told by onboarding team was vesting is only 1 year after (1 year cliff ) and then it is monthly, it is average of the month or vesting . ESPP is quarterly
Huh? ESPP is twice a year, not quarterly
@Exa, circle back to your recruiter or manager … your info is off. the company vests only 4 days a year (as stated in everyone’s offer letter verbiage). If you start in December, your first year of equity (25%) is vesting march 2023. And espp is 6 months (3/1 & 9/1)
Location? Thanks!
Remote/Austin
This is a great offer for remote. They gave you some sign on bonus too?
@OP Can you please share the break down ? Base , rsu, bonus
