https://www.tomshardware.com/news/report-nvidia-approached-arm-about-acquisition No way it happens or very likely to go through ? Could be industry disrupting level of acquisition #apple #nvidia #qualcomm
How do you know?
Yeah why won’t their gpu scale?
Nvidia is using risc V as well.
On silicon yet or just r&d?
No idea if that happens but definitely will take another forever to get approved
Wondering why Apple isn’t interested? Maybe antitrust regulations prohibit it from acquiring.
Possibly due to the closed culture and closed ecosystem whereas ARM is an open eco system?
That deviates from their core business.
Is SoftBank selling it tho? This is kinda up their alley, the perpetual licensing cash cow.
In 2016, SoftBank described ARM as its prized possession, with SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son describing it as “the center of the center of SoftBank.” In the coronavirus era, SoftBank has been hit hard by the tanking valuations of Uber and WeWork, along with the bankruptcy of OneWeb, and now it's willing to sell ARM to raise money.
And they think they'll make money by keeping Uber?
Possibly they can sell some portion of it to appease investors.
Prob won’t work. Arm is an IP licensor to NVIDIA’s competitors etc - open to a flurry of potential law suits
I hop it doesn’t workout. Too much consolidation in the industry
Nothing but speculations
Oopsie
🤭
I'm betting on it
