Have you reviewed for conferences/journals? If yes (say 15+ papers) you'll have a great chance. Also, get another 3 recommendation letters. 2 of the 5 can be "subjective" i.e. your professor and a mentor during an internship.
I think you deserve straight citizenship.. no visa crap. You’re what we need
Lol
O-1 should be easy for you. In fact, you can also push for EB-1B if your company is willing. DM me if you need any help.
Can we do it without publications/citations?
Op, You will get your GC in no time, go for EB1. Your profile looks solid.
So, I will ask the recruiter if he can apply for EB1 ? Once I get the EB1, How much time to get the green card?
From my understanding EB1 does not require an employer sponsorship, so I can apply myself to it ?
Your profile is good for O1. One thing you didnt mention is paper reviews (note reviews should directly come to you and not through professor). This is one criteria and can be checked marked pretty easily. Mail some editors in different journals or try to be in a program committee of some conference. You can get review request for papers pretty easily. Generally in my experience count > 10 in good journals suffice. You can also go for EB1B route (I think you need to satisfy 2/8 criteria). But I would wait for O1 to get approved and get my citations > 100 before EB1 application. Also for recommendations, try to get from people whom you haven’t worked with and are from different countries but have cited your paper in a meaningful way.
I just got an O1 too. YOE: 5 Business undergrad, no technical experience. No international publications or high remuneration, or scholarly articles, but my startup raised around $1m. That counted as “awards” You only need to shoot for 3 of the 8 criteria to have a good shot at it. I believe we went for 6 and they probably only considered 3. They’re actually super flexible with the definition of extraordinary, I scraped by but no RFE, straight to approval from Canada. Process took 6 mos. I went through 5-6 consultations before picking my immigration lawyer. You actually need more of a creative writer than a lawyer, well in my case my lawyer was also a fiction author. It’s about telling a story. For me, it was casting a narrative around “the entrepreneur I’ll become” and not as much “here’s the 1m+ things I’ve done that are incredible” I went to a shitty University in canada too. PM me if you wanna chat more about it. It sounds like you have some indisputable brilliance that’s going to be easy to argue in your petition. Only caveat is that you need to find a company willing to petition you, and sign off on the petition when you apply. It’s very possible that if you do have conversations with company’s and they’re down to give it a shot, that you can make your employment contingent on getting the O1. Whole process take as little as 2 months w premium processing. Technically I’m working for and fireable from a company I own half of, so they’re very flexible if you play cards right.
Do you mind sharing the attorney’s contact or the law firm you went thru
DM me if you need judgment.
