Purely from a monetary perspective feels like a easy decision to choose Lyft. But just concerned about the stability at Lyft. Folks at Lyft , do you anticipate layoffs or do you guys feel layoffs are behind?
What has gotten you interested in OCi ? 🦕 company
They did less layoffs compared to others last year. Hence thought they’re more stable.
OCI cuts ruthlessly and it is not always performance based. Your team or org does not make money to justify its existence - entire team/org will be cut and no team switching.
If you have to ask this question, go to OCI
Hey bb2u, can you please give me a referral? There’s a position that I am really interested in. I tried finding recruiters and managers on linkedin, but none of them responded. Thanks!
Lyft turning profitable cash wise Should be ok if you perform
Thanks for the input.
I’d probably stay away from Lyft. The stock is too volatile. Just look at the past couple of days
Right. But as long as they’re hovering over the current price I am ok taking the risk.

Hi congrats on your offers! Would you mind sharing your prep for coding and sys. design? Were most of your coding questions medium difficulty? Thank you in advance
I prepared for almost a year. I have done 800 questions in leetcode. I participate in leetcode weekly contest and can solve 3 out of 4 questions most of the time. In general I have been asked medium to hard questions in my interviews so far. Maybe 15% to 20% hard rest are medium.
Leadership said no layoff during all hands. And yes I would kind of trust they gave us hint before the last layoff.
Awesome. Thanks for the input. Did you leave Meta to join Lyft?
Almost everyone I know who left Lyft is at meta. Also there won't be any more layoffs unless something drastically changes with the economy (in which case layoffs at most companies would be fair game)
Is Lyft still hiring a lot now?
OCI has monthly layoffs according to my friends who got laid off there. At Lyft we don’t expect any layoff this year according to CEO and CPO, we’re not hiring a lot mostly just backfills, job security should be better compared to OCI.
Thanks for the input.
OCI does layoffs. They’re just silent. For the peanuts they offer today, not worth it.
Oh. I didn’t know about it. Thanks for sharing. From the outside it looks like they hardly layoff.
Nah, they just do them more frequently and with smaller batches so WARN is not triggered. Oracle is an old school company, fly low, no frills. Severance is a joke too so even when laid off you don’t get much.
Wonder how some ppl are still getting multiple offers in such markets 🫡
They have more than Verizon Media on their resume?
Not talking about getting calls , i have got calls from top companies in this market too, however I have not received an offer yet. Small mistakes are enough to kill the chances. In that sense i admire who are able to crack more than 1.
