Hi all, Need help in evaluating offers from Workday and OCI. Workday - P3 (Software Engineer 3) Salary - 175K Base + 160k RSU + 30K Sign-on + 17.5K Bonus TC - 278K Location - Pleasanton, CA OCI - IC3 (Senior MTS) Salary - 165K Base + 5000 stocks (Almost 380k) + 25K Bonus TC - 285K Location - Seattle, WA OCI team does not have a lot of on-call support. Heard that is one of the major complaint for OCI. There is 10% difference in tax between California & WA Workday has very good refresher program(40-60%) and I see there is an increase in RSU which is equivalent to additional 28k (50%) going forward every year without any increments in base. ——-Updated offer from workday Base 180k, RSU 220k Signon 30k Had to provide screenshot of counter offer and refresher is going to be 40-60% of 136k for p3 ——-Accepted Amazon SDE2 Base 180k Rsu 85 stocks sign-on 120k/90k Florida location YoE - 6 years #workday #oci
IC4 is senior right?
IC4 is principal
Got it. I thought Ic2 sde1 ic3 sde2
Hey great offer. I am in a similar situation as you. I was told I’d be getting an offer next week too for P3 at workday and I also have an offer at oracle just like you but mine is 20k less at Oci for ic3. Did you negotiate for your offer at workday? Also are you calculating 17.5 bonus on basis of 10% yearly bonus? IMO if you are gonna be working on XPresso or whatever Workdays proprietary language is then it’s probably not worth it but they do have a great wlb. I too haven’t heard good things about oracles wlb but I liked everyone I spoke to. Do you mind if I dm you for more details ?
I have a good friend who works there and wlb is great there apparently. Only be careful about if you are working on xpresso. I would be choosing workday if I get a similar offer cause as you pointed out they have give you +20% over previous years equity as bonus which becomes valuable in the long run. From what I understand at Oci you don’t get anything for bonus. (I could be wrong. I did not ask about this part)
Thanks for your insights. Team is not working on XPresso and yes for first year bonus is 10% of base but it is probably going to be variable from next year as they are planning to make changes. I mentioned that I had another offer before doing interview workday and oracle got me the best offer they could for intial offer. I have asked Workday to match offer and i will be hearing back from them on Monday. People I spoke at oracle did not complain a lot about WLB unless your team is having high on call duty. My team at oracle does not have a lot of on call but yes since they give high initial salary there will not be any refreshers or hikes unless you perform really well. Sure DM me
Did workday ask for proof of competing offer or did you tell them it's a verbal offer and they believed it?
Updated post. Had initial bump with verbal but got major increase after sending screenshot of counter
