Are VPs dumb or they have different skills that I don't
If it’s a role that excites you and offers skill progression, take it. If it’s neither, skip. Do you have other offers/interviews?
Yes, Role is a progressive one as compared to the role I am in. No, I was passively looking and this just came up.
~95K to 120K is a 25K bump and roughly 30% pay raise. For little effort on your part (passively looking) I’d def say it’s worth it — if you can see yourself growing your skill set and the role excites you. However, if you were actively looking and prepping, it’s quite possible you might be able to jump even higher. If you’re cool with potentially jumping ship within a few months, I’d suggest taking the role and learning everything you can within the first 3 months. Be an absolute star in your role. Then start prepping and actively searching. You might be surprised what you find. (And even if you don’t find better, the interview practice will def be valuable) Remember, at the moment there are a ton of remote roles available. You might luck out and get TC from a higher cost of living area. But I don’t think the fact that you *might* be able to get more somewhere else should detract from the excitement you have for the role you’ve already landed. (Unless, of course, maximizing TC is your only goal ATM)
