Location : Toronto Current TC : 135K YoE : 12 ( earlier worked as EM, IC etc. ) Offer with Instinet ( Trading firm ) : 200K Role : Senior IC Have worked for 5 companies in my exp of 12+ yrs so far. I have applied to Amazon for SDM but failed in bar raiser ( feedback by recruiter ), Facebook recruiter said they will open in Canada in the next year. Didn't get called by other ANGMULA, Square, Twitter, Shopify etc. at all since the last 8 months. I'm only interested in SDM/EM role. Not sure if I should accept the Instinet offer for IC or wait for few more months for interviews with other companies. I'm worried if I work for Instinet and then start looking for FANGMULA in 1 year, it will look as if I'm a "job hopper". Also not too keen on senior IC, since I want to work as EM. Any advice would help. #interview #advice #offer #tech
What happens if you don't get an offer from your "dream job" after a year? Will you regret turning down a 50% pay bump?
"Dream jobs" are an illusion
Interviewer: why did you quit in 3 months, me: the company failed to challenge me... that’s real story when I quit SAP and joined a startup... one year (exactly) and my last day on Monday... another startup and same response... the company failed to give me enough challenge- it’s not my failure, you gotta try hard to keep me entertained
OP is this 200k CAD or 200k USD? Outside the US FAANG isn’t necessarily as competitive as the US so take the highest offer
it is CAD
Work in a company for one year is good enough. Many people hop between faang every two years.
