Has JPMC finally given up on trying to get in demand candidates to its ugly ass office parks in Plano Texas and Columbus Ohio? I’m seeing multiple remote jobs of theirs on LinkedIn job postings right now. I’ve received hundreds of calls and emails from their (third party) recruiters asking me to relocate for shit stain salaries, lackluster benefits, and no relo benefits and it drove me INSANE https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/sr-devops-engineer-at-jpmorgan-chase-co-3789330763 https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/sr-devops-engineer-at-jpmorgan-chase-co-3789330763
Those are contract roles. Doesn’t surprise me that they’re remote. Nobody with any sense relocates for a contract role.
Right. I was getting spammed every day by third party jpmc recruiters for ON-SITE contract roles and I kept telling them no. Kept unsubscribing from their emails, started cussing them out. It didn’t matter these locusts kept fucking asking me to relocate to Columbus/Plano for $50/hr no benefits. I was going absolutely insane
$50 an hour? Damn. Been a while since I was a contractor, but I was getting more than that rate ten years ago.
Just wait until after bonus payout, recruiters will be throwing money to find people after people mass exodus again.
I was getting an absurd about of of calls from jpmc recruiters in 22 and 21, but in 23 they’ve died down a lot. Only got like 5 this year for Columbus.
I'm setting up interviews with JPM because I know there is an exodus after the January bonus payout. Trying to arbitrage to a higher level (ED).
I've got 10 YOE in in big tech, make >$300k a year, and work fully remote, and I still get these cold calls practically begging me to go work $30 an hour contract to hire jobs (on site) in the middle of nowhere. They always seem legitimately shocked and offended I'm not interested in giving up a $300k remote job. Honest advice, get a Google Pixel phone for the AI spam filtering. They get sent straight to voicemail without my phone even ringing now.
This is interesting advice lol Buying a phone specifically to block out recruiters hahah
I just lol at them. First ask the pay band and the on-site expectation then when it comes back as a contract or some stupid hourly rate and on-site literally respond with a single “lol”
Honestly…Ohio and Texas and they wonder why they can’t recruit?
They have tech offices in nyc, Chicago, and Tampa too I’ve learned, but the recruiters aren’t as feral for those locations. They’re feigning to get people to move to texas and ohio bc they have ginormous office campuses there tied up with tax dollars from the states for bringing workers to the state and yes— surprise surprise highly qualified individuals don’t want to live and work in the boondocks for 2015 salaries as if inflation doesn’t exist
Which leaves less qualified folk like me. Making me feel better.
Who wants to work for a bank anyway.
During a recession…. It makes sense to be where the money is imo
