I saw 3 people posting on LinkedIn that they resigned because of mandatory RTO. I don’t know if resigning in this job market for mandatory RTO makes sense. Why do people hate RTO so much? Tc: 348k
RTO is for slaves
I can fart as much as I want at home. No girls in yoga pants distracting me. Freedom and flexibility, no commuting.
While I don’t wear yoga pants other than doing yoga, why so much hate on yoga pants. Is it just being unprofessional to you or there are some other distraction a yoga pants is causing. It’s just a casual outfit
It’s distracting seeing butt cheeks in my face 24/7. Yoga pants highlight the curves/cheeks
I have asked this question in blind before. Lot of people have set up their lives thinking RTO would never be needed, now it’s very hard for them to uproot the family/ near one way decisions of moving somewhere with buying a house/ living close to extended family etc
No
Commute time , commute cost , office lunch cost/quality. RTO is an effective pay cut in the 15-35% range in your net . not to mention LCOL area cost of living which enables you to save even more or even afford your first home .
WFH gave power back to employees balancing some of the corporate greed, we are not cogs that can be optimized we work to live.
Some people live hours away, or across the country. RTO means either wasting commute time, or moving again. It's not easy if you have built a family / community.
I save like $5k a month on a nanny. That’s $60k post tax so
Someone on my team also resigned last year because of RTO. I also hate RTO to the core but don't have the guts or means to resign because of that.
These tech bought a house very far away with the expectation that they won't be returning to the office, or they didn't think it through. Or they have over 3M in the bank so they think their time is more valuable
It fucking kills me
Cool, but will you resign from the job for RTO in this market?
